I know this art here doesn't have any naked ladies or swords, but I was compelled to share. This the kind of creature that naked ladies with swords might battle against.
Kiyoaki Kanai is... bizarre. The art is certainly interesting, no arguing that. It is also shocking. I chose the image above because it is by far the tamest example I could find. If you go to his (at least, I think it's a "he") website and bounce around, you'll see what I mean. It's in Japanese, but there's an option at the top to view it in English. Have fun.
Lorenzo Sperlonga's work is right up there with the best of them. You know him from the pages of Heavy Metal Magazine. Go to his website, buy his books, and give them to me. You'll enjoy going through his galleries. Don't be discouraged by how awesome his stuff is compared to yours. He was born in Rome, and I'm sure that's some kind of huge artistic advantage.
Somebody should write up some flash fiction for this and send it to me. Then I'd post it here. Sound good? Good. Let's say in the neighborhood of 500 words. We'll do more of these in the future, and someday prizes may be involved. And if you submit your own naked ladies with swords, we'll do flash fiction for those, too. GET TO WORK.
The only problem I had with Tariq Raheem was deciding which pieces to post here. Go bounce around his web page for a while. I think you'll like it there.
Lots and lots of NLWS at Jose Manchado's place. And if you know a little Spanish, you should be able to navigate all around and see all the other projects he's worked on.
Norchug Mot Losiat, Chuggie to his friends, is the walking embodiment of Drought. When he stumbles upon the remote city of Stagwater, he finds love, temptation, and treachery. He gets caught in the middle as sinister forces battle for the city. But Chuggie? All he wants is a boat.
We Endorse This Book, Too
Chuggie, the perpetually intoxicated embodiment of drought, returns for another adventure in Chuggie and the Bleeding Gateways. It s been five days since the Desecration of Stagwater, and our hero has work to do. With the help of some ghostly new cronies, he searches for a lost little boy, explores a new world, and does his drunken best to avoid the clutches of pursuing Steel Jacks. What are the secrets of the bone dagger he carries? What allies and enemies will he find in the wilderness? Where will he get more booze?
